Sell Position

Once a position is open, users can choose to sell it before it expires. This allows traders to exit early — either to limit losses when the market is moving against them, or to take back a portion of their stake rather than waiting for the outcome.

How It Works

When a position is active, a Sell button appears in the Open Positions list. Tapping Sell closes the position immediately at its current estimated value, rather than waiting for the scheduled expiry.

The early exit value is calculated based on:

  • The time remaining until expiry

  • Current market price relative to the entry price

  • The original premium and multiplier of the position

Because the position is settled before its natural outcome can be determined, selling early always results in a loss — the return is less than the original stake. The settlement is recorded in Trading History as Lose.

When Sell Is Not Available

Not all positions can be sold at all times. The Sell option is unavailable when:

  • The position is in its final seconds before expiry (settlement already in progress)

  • The market is in a settlement window

  • The position has already expired

In these cases, the position will settle normally at expiry.
